Dr. King, the King

Let’s be clear, Dr. Martin Luther King was a King. He walked the earth preaching, petitioning and screaming “Black Lives Matter,” then White Supremacy shot him in the head. And like all the other Kings and Queens — Malcolm X, Fred Hampton, Medgar Evers, Harry and Harriette Moore, Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson, Cynthia Wesley, George Floyd, and Trayvon Martin — their eternal, immortal lives continue to cry out like roaring bells demanding FREEDOM. So today, I sit in silence and remember. Today, like every day, I sit and remember that dreams all too often turn into nightmares for those of us who dare to be free — to act free. So, Rest in Peace Dr. King. I am the inheritance of your majesty, your imagined and unimagined dream of freedom. Like you, I will walk this earth, preaching and demanding freedom until I, too, can rest in peace
